Flag-lowering ceremony at every evening at Attari-Wagha boarder, 30 kms from Amritsar is a daily military practice which Indian and Pakistan forces have been following since 1959. The ceremony starts with a blustering parade by the soldiers from both sides, and ends up in the perfectly coordinated lowering of the two nations’ flags It is called the Beating Retreat border ceremony on the international level.

The ceremony takes place on all days of the year around 3:00 PM to 06:00 PM depending upon the weather/summer time. Witnessing the energy of patriotism at both side is an amazing experience.

The Palki Sahib Ceremony in Golden Temple in Amritsar takes place twice a days when the holy book for Sikhs , "Sri Guru Granth Sahib" is taken from the main shrine to inner sanctum in the temple in a gilded palki (palanquin). This is a symbolic gesture taking place in the temple for centuries.

Usually this ceremony takes place around 10:00 PM every night with a slight change of timings in summer and winter. Devotees sing holy rhymes and the whole atmosphere fills with spiritualty in the entire premises of glimmering Golden Temple at night.
