Spectacularly situated on the periphery of UNESCO World Heritage Site Kaziranga National park, Diphlu River Lodge is an ideal place to intimate with the natural world. Separated from the park by its namesake river Diphlu, this luxurious jungle lodge offers an experiential stay to travelers around the world.
Ideally located near the western range of the park, Diphlu River lodge is surrounded by grounds that host more than 40 species of trees and over 200 species of shrubs, creepers and climbers. With environment-sensitive 12 cottages overlooking the river, park or lush paddy fields, Diphlu River Lodge combines modern comforts with the thrill of the wilderness and an array of activities; in-house as well as out of the lodge.
The lodge features 12 air-conditioned cottages with en-suite bathroom and large balcony overlooking the great river or lush paddy fields below. All the cottages are elevated to around 10 ft above the ground level with bamboos and are artistically and aesthetically designed using cane furniture and fittings that perfectly compliment to the spirit of Assamese culture. The fusion of Indian and Assamese cookery is served at various venues complimenting perfectly the ambience and thrill of wilderness.

Diphlu River Lodge offers accommodation in 8 individual cottages and 4 semi-detached cottages for 24 guests at a time, ensuring an exclusive and serene experience. The raised cottages are made of natural materials like bamboo and wood, topped with thatched roofs to blend in with the forest surroundings.
Cottages
All cottages are fitted with air-condition for comfort and has an en-suite bathroom with all classy and quality toilet amenities. Available with King and twin beds, each individual cottage has a wide folding glass door opening onto a verandah with inviting cane chairs and overlooking the river or the lush paddy fields.
Located at the banks of river Diphlu and amid the lush paddy fields, Diphlu River Lodge offers various options for sumptuous meals. Options of enjoying meals by the lake or at the river side, at the open courtyard with views of the fields or atop a small hill, each meal is an experience with the excitement of a wilderness experience.
Machan
This is an air-conditioned sitting and dining area, which opens onto two verandahs. The larger verandah, with a high thatched ceiling, wooden flooring and well-equipped bar, overlooks the Diphlu River and the national park.
This is the perfect place to watch for birds or to scan the opposite bank for wild animals. The smaller verandah overlooks lovingly tended farmland and is an appealing location for al fresco breakfasts.
Hilltop
This is a naturally open area near the entrance of the Lodge. Flanked by bamboo groves, the Hilltop is where barbeques and dance performances by locals are arranged for our discerning guests.
Tea deck
Watch the sun move or the stars dance across the sky in this romantic setting under a tree strung with lights.
River bank
The River Bank area is the ideal backdrop to the picnic lunches arranged for the Lodge guests.

Elephant bathing
Indian elephants are intelligent yet shy animal and love spending time in water. Get more close to an elephant as you spend some time giving bath to an elephant in the refreshing waters of the Diphlu River. Talk to mahout and know more about this grand mammal.
Jeep safaris
We use open, windowless vehicles with front-facing seats for jeep safaris into the park.
Our in-house naturalist will accompany you on all safaris.
As per official government rules, jeep safaris are only allowed in the mornings and afternoons on fixed routes advised by the Forest Department.
Dolphin boat safari
Apart from the daily safaris, an added attraction at Diphlu River Lodge is the possibility of encounters with the endangered but playful Gangetic Dolphins on our dolphin boat safari.
Assamese dances
